NATURE AND SPORT

Established with L.R. 10.10.1989 no. 38, the Park includes, totally or in part, 15 Municipalities and covers an area of about 18,694 ha. Here you will find the highest hills of the Po Plain, in the south-west of Padova (the highest hill, Mt. Venda, reaches 601m). The particular location and volcanic origin, the various climatic conditions, as well as the active human presence since ancient times make the Park a unique territory for its natural treasures, landscape, environment, culture, art, and social-economic aspects. With the Establishment Law and the recent approval of the Environmental Plan, the Park has been provided with adequate instruments to protect the environment, to promote the social and economic development of its territory according to sustainability principles.

The Trails of Colli Euganei

The Park area is crossed by a thick networks of trails.

The Park Authority, in collaboration with the Regional Forest Service, is committed to the maintenance of the main trails providing them with information panels and picnic areas and to the cleaning and maintenance of the areas.

For some of them, there is a brochure with detailed cartography, altimetry, and detailed description of the route.

Parco delle Ginestre (The Park of the Brooms)

The geological history of Colli Euganei area, the particular mountain morphology, and the local climate have favored the development of different habitats where mountain environments like chestnut tree or oak woodlands suddenly give way to warm and dry environments like the Mediterranean maquis and calcareous dry grasslands.

A world full of life lightly touching, surrounding, or crossing the habitats of man, including the green areas used as parks and gardens.
